| HEY EVERYONE!!! , i am new here and i am not sure what to start off with except a little bit about me. My name is Dale Ward and i am 21 years old , i work at IBM in West Pennant Hills, i know Kenny and Kris and they both told me i should register on here and join the community so here i am . i am currently looking to buy a bike also as i do not have a bike to call my own yet , i was thinking an aprilia or a hyosung but kenny is adamant on wanting me to get a ninja . i dont have much experience with bikes (laugh at the noob ) but i am really interested in learning , looking forward to hearing from you all. -Dale |

| welcome dude! for a starter bike just pick one that you like the style - cos you wont be keeping it forever anyway. Ppl say get a naked one cos fairings = more expensive to replace.. _________________ FR #483 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W_3-GZbA7Ss

| Welcome aboard and I have to agree - for an inexpensive, reliable, light but solid, fun (and not slow) intro to bike riding it's hard to go past a Ninja. There are good reasons why they are the number one selling bike in Australia (postoe bikes don't count!) |

| wow thanks everyone i was not expecting so many replies , you sure are a friendly bunch , looks like i will have to try and grab a ninja now (always secretly wanted one when i was 12) ... i was just checking out most of your avatar's and you guys have some pretty powerful bikes. so i am currently on the bike hunt at the moment and i was told i should learn on a 125cc but most 125cc are not full size bikes off memory and because i am really tall (6'3) i don't think a 125cc is an option so i think ill just jump straight into a 250cc. Also regarding bike security what is the most common set up as i cannot be around all the time to break the would be thief. Disc Brake Locks/ Alarms - Pager Combo , i know most bikes come with steering lock but that is not enough. P.S Cameron's sig = hahaha |

| I use a disc brake lock. Just dont forget to take it off before riding off If you are tall, then a 125 really isnt for you. i got my licence on a CBR125...sat on one the other day...i really dont know how i did so many Km on the little thing. |

| Just again on the disc lock, attach a lead from the disc lock to either your left or right brake/clutch lever as a reminder. Both are inexpensive yet are effective actual & visual deterrents. _________________ NSW Rider Member # 3 FarRider Member # 481 FarRide # 16 Euston NSW FarRide # 17 Eungella QLD FarRide # 18 Nambucca Heads NSW

| I think I paid $70.00 for mine or it might have been $65.00 not to sure now. Anyways it's the Xena brand and I brought it from BikeBiz at Granville and it works really well . You only have to move your bike a bit and it goes bananas ... You can probably get something cheaper on eBay. But you know how the eBay biz is sometimes and I guess it depends on how much you value your bike. Thats why I went with the Xena as I cannot put a price on Dorothy although many have asked . Oh yes and you can always get one of those GPS trackers. I came across some really tiny ones the other week which I am thinking of bringing in. EDIT: Here you go I actually told a fib they are only $59.95 sorry about that. http://www.bikebiz.com.au/products/Xena-XZZ6L-Alarm-Disc-Lock.html
