Hi everyone

Was introduced to your group by a few friendly chappies at OP yesterday.

I'm an old fart and a bit of a hoon from way back and fairly new to riding bikes.

I used to ride a yammy DT175 trail bike in the bush around Goulburn and Canberra in the late 70s and had a Yammy XS 250 for a couple of years in the late 80s.

Got back to riding earlier this year on a 86 GPX750 and after a couple of months on that updated to the ZX9-F2(2003). Had my first track day in August at OP and dropped the bike at turn 4 in the dirt trying to get back onto the track (where I should have been anyway) at 0kph and did about $1k damage to paint and decals so decided I needed a track bike.

I bought a ZX9-F1 (2002) as a RWO with only fairing damage and put race glass on it and have a track day at Marulan and now my first serious track day yesterday.

Had a ball (as you would) and found this bunch of really friendly guys from this site.

My next track day is the last ride day at OP on January 13. Hope to meet more of you guys there.

G'day John, it was good to meet you yesterday. I can definitely see the merits of a dedicated track bike - I've started looking already.

Welcome to NSWR.

Yeah one small drop, even is basically stopped can cost almost as much as a tracky so having a tracky means you don't have that in the back of your mind. Best thing is if you do have a big off you still have your road bike to get around on...

All I have to do now is to learn how to ride fast and get the balance right between the chicken factor and the death wish.
